Artist Lead (Canada)
Angela Henderson was born and raised in the interior of British Columbia, Canada. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design from Emily Carr University of Art and Design and is currently an MFA candidate at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Working across mediums and installation techniques, Angela’s work examines the revisionist role of the monument as a historical marker and investigates the possibility of a monument to achieve more than a fixed, ideologically biased interpretation of history. By examining the contextual relationship of the monument to place and time, Angela’s work seeks to expand the definition of the monument from a fixed historical marker to a catalyst for instigating a more fluid relationship to the past.
